Aussie Aqua Jars

You know those beautiful Ball aqua mason jars that I sell on Jestti's Treasures?  Most of them have been going to Australia - apparently they are hard to find down under.  Check out this post about two blue mason jars that made it to a happy home in Tasmania.

My Newest Little Creation

Here is my latest addition to the Jestti line of products.

A pin cushion made from an antique blue mason jar!  I'm contemplating adding a few pin cushions with smaller clear jars, too.

Fruit Crate Fun

Here is my latest Pinterest inspiration.  I got this old fruit crate from a local farmer for free.  Right away I knew what I wanted to do with it.  Ever since we moved into our current home (6 years ago), my girls have needed some shelving above the toilet in their bathroom.  Unfortunately for them, it was never high on my priority list.

First we sanded it a bit.  Not a lot, just enough to get rid of the sliver factor.  Then I painted it with extra wall paint I had left over from one of the bedrooms, hung it on the wall and let the girls help me decorate it.  Here is the end result:

They are very happy with the result and so am I.  You can't beat free!

Painted Jars

I have been slightly addicted to Pinterest lately.  I have pinned so many craft, DIY and re-decorating ideas I want to do that if I attempt them all I'll be busy for the next couple years.  Here is one that I recently tried:  painted jars.

First, I found some jars that I wasn't using and cleaned them up.  Most of them were mason jars, but I had a few other kinds of glass jars sitting around, too.

I used several different kinds of spray paint on the jars:  matte, gloss, and satin.  I even used a textured paint, just for kicks.  I found out the hard way to do several light coats instead of one heavy coat.  With one heavy coat, the paint got drippy and ran down the sides of the jar.  *ugh*

These are the jars drying on a ladder in the garage.

Once they were dry I brought them all in and got the ribbon and lids out (I waited 24 hours to make sure they were completely dry).  Here are a few of the combinations I came up with:

I really like the way the tan color turned out.  My daughter already claimed the black one.

Christmas colors!

Different sizes for different uses.

I used textured spray paint for the brown one in this pic.

This one is my favorite.  :)

Just think of all the different styles of jars and colors of spray paint out there.  And then add different ribbons, twine, candles, lids, etc.  Oh my, the possibilities are endless!

Ruffle Skirt

I recently finished this skirt for my cousin who just had a precious baby girl.  It's so fun to make little people clothes.

I hope she likes it!

Full of Health From Milk

This is my latest listing on Jestti's Treasures:

The thing that cracks me up the most about this find is the saying on the box.  "Full of Health From Milk".  Velveeta is probably one of the most UNhealthy things to eat in this processed obsessed nation.  So funny!

New Fabric

I just finished shopping at the Fancy Farm Destash & Supply.  I got myself some purty fabric:

Now if I could only decide what to make with it.....any ideas?
