Turning Jeans Into Ruffle Skirts

I enjoy repurposing things, especially if it involves using my sewing machine.  :)  I recently made ruffle skirts for my daughters using old jeans and some nice fabric.  My girls have been wanting skirts like this ever since they saw one in a store window over a year ago.  Their slow-poke mom finally got around to finishing them, so I thought I would let you have a peek.

This one is for my 10 year old.  I didn't get a picture of her wearing it because she wasn't here when I finished it, but you get the idea.
She loves the colors.  It's a little longer than I wanted it to be, so I'll probably make her another shorter one.

And this one is for my 4-year old.  Sorry that the pictures are kind of blurry, my little squirt princess doesn't know how to stand still (she had to twirl because she was wearing a skirt).

Again, I apologize for the bad pictures.  I really wanted to get a good picture of both of the girls wearing the skirts outside, but it has been raining for the last few days and I'm too impatient to wait any longer.

I'm thinking about making a few more and adding them to my Etsy shop.  What do you think?

New Listing

Here is my latest Rice-filled Heating/Cooling Pad.  I'm thinking that I need to add some more headbands and fabric books to my Etsy shop.....I seem to have plenty of rice pads in stock!

From Amy Butler's fabric "Floating Buds in Sage".

Princess

I recently entered a giveaway hosted by Karen over at Sew Determined.  It was for a cute pink tutu.  I rarely win giveaways on blogs, but I entered anyway.

Wouldn't you know....I won!  I was so excited!!!

My 4 year old daughter is in princess land almost 24-7 and is quite the girly-girl. I couldn't wait to receive the tutu and watch her twirl while wearing it.  She didn't disappoint.  If she had her way, she would live in that thing!

Isn't the skirt cute?  Thank you SO much Karen!!!
